2010 Reno Rams

Lot 53

'Double Shot of Jack', Prairie Rose 9606-4

 Born: 1.24.09 Twin

Sire:  "Yukon Jack", Luxford 07-1311

Dam: "TomBoy", Prairie Rose 606

Double Shot of Jack is a tremendous individual.  This guy had us excited from the time he was a week old.  He is a very complete ram with good bone, size and scale and is infact, bigger and more massive than our Champion Ram at Reno in 2009.  He is super correct, has an extremely strong top, dock with spring and depth of rib.  He is shown here in his working clothes.   We had a bit of bad luck with some of the yearling stock this winter & spring and much to our dismay, Double Shot got caught up in that mayhem.  He buggared one of his front legs up so will not be making the trip to Reno (yep, made me cry).  He is completely mobile and ambulatory (& will be able to breed as he is jumping on the other rams in the pen) but the leg just doesn't look very pretty at this point, so we have opted to keep him home on the ranch.  We have decided to retain Double Shot of Jack as an in-flock stud.

UPDATE:  WE HAVE SOLD 1/2 INTEREST IN DOUBLE SHOT!  DETAILS TO BE ANNOUNCED SOON!  Thank you to all who inquired about this stud!

'Yukon Gold', Prairie Rose 9712-1  RR NN

Born:  2.09.09  Twin

Sire:  'Yukon Jack', Luxford 07-1311

Dam:  Prairie Rose 712

STOOD 2ND IN CLASS TO THE CHAMPION RAM!

A BIG THANKS GOES TO

IKE MAXWELL, WASHINGTON

FOR ADDING THIS STUD TO HIS FLOCK FOR

$4,500

Powerful and impressive, this stud ram was a stand-out from day one.  Dimensionally massive, with depth of body, spring of rib and a big hip.  For a ram of this scale, he is smooth and has a beautiful front end.   He has that stud buck type of head to top off his size and scale.  His sire, 'Yukon Jack' is producing some great progeny out of the 'Great Divide' daughters.  His dam,  Prairie Rose 712, a 40 inch Great Divide daughter, is a full genetic sister only 2 years younger to Prairie Rose 614 who dammed our Reserve Champion Ram at the Nugget in 2008.  Powerful ewe family that consistently produces top end big rams and ewes. Twin sister stays in the flock.
