Prairie Rose 9685-2

This young stud prospect is a powerful son of "YUKON" also known as "Yukon Jack", Luxford 07-1311, a stud who sired some tremendous individuals for us in his first season of work here (2009).
He is a massively built young ram that has spring of rib, depth of body and correctness
throughout.  He has a clean, elevated front end, excellent length of body and respectable
bone.  He is RR/NN.  This ram lamb is dammed by Prairie Rose 685, a "Great Divide", Luxford 03-1131 granddaughter.  She was sired by "D'Artagnon", Prairie Rose 5502-2, who was the twin brother to "Burlington Northern", the ram that we sold at the Nugget in '06 for $8,500.  This fellow is a large bodied ram and from the looks of it promises to be quite a large ram as a yearling.  He is pictured here at 10 mos. of age and was slick sheared 3 weeks prior to the picture being taken.  Look for him at one of the shows and sales in 2010!!!

Pictured right is another bold young son of "YUKON", Luxford 07-1311.  This complete type of young ram was an attention getter from the day he was born!  He is a big bodied fellow with a great pattern, excellent top & tail set and certainly has an eye appealing profile.   Sporting good bone, natural thickness and an awesome hip this ram lamb will be fun to watch as he hits his yearling run.  He is dammed by one of our top stud ewes, "TomBoy", a "Great Divide" daughter who hails from an exceptional line of females.  She puts an outstanding pair of lambs on the ground every year as does her mother and her sisters.  He is pictured here at 10 months of age and like the ram pictured above was slicked sheared 3 weeks prior to when this photo was taken.  Watch for this exciting stud prospect at the shows and sales in 2010!

Pictured here at 11 months of age, this young prospect (pictured above) is a handsome ram with plenty of substance & yet has ample panache.  He is a "YUKON", Luxford 1311 son and is dammed by a "Great Divide" Luxford 1131 daughter.  This has been a great combination for us (Luxford 1311 genetics bred to Luxford 1131 genetics) and has produced some very outstanding progeny thus far.  We are enthusiastic to watch this fellow and his penmates develop as they enter their yearling phase.

Big, Big and Big describes this young ram that is residing in our prospect pen.  Excellent muscling throughout, big top, big hip, big bone.  Not only does this fellow have the product that so many Suffolk breeders are looking for in today's Suffolk, he also has more than adequate elevation, eye appeal and masculine style to please many a show breeder.  He carries the stylish snap of the Luxford breeding and the product & muscling of the Prairie Rose breeding, making him a very interesting young ram.  He is pictured here at 11 months of age.  He is sired by "YUKON", Luxford 1311 and dammed by a "Great Divide" granddaughter that comes from the same line of females as the popular ram that we showed in Reno in '06 that stood 3rd in his class.

This powerful RR yearling prospect, pictured here at not quite a year old (born mid Feb. 09; photo taken in mid-Jan 2010) has been an interesting young ram to watch develop.  He is a big, level topped, super correct ram that hails from one of our notable ewe lines that consistently puts quality & size in their progeny.  He is the youngest of our yearling prospects and is starting to come on hard.  His dam is a full sister, only 2 years younger, to the mother of our Reserve Grand Champion Ram at the Nugget All American in Reno in 2008.  He was slick sheared in November and has not been touched since.  He is currently pictured "As Is".  He is sired by "YUKON", Luxford 1311.
