Prairie Rose Suffolks
Suffolks with Substance

This young ram lamb, Prairie Rose 8617-1, is one big lamb!
He is going to be massive! At 35 days of age, this guy weighed in at a whopping 72 lbs. (no girlie ram here)with an actual (not adjusted) average daily gain of 1.49 lbs. per day. He is sired by "LAWMAN" and dammed by Prairie Rose 617, a "Great Divide" daughter and direct g-daughter of "Bridger Gold". He will be one to watch!

Another massive type of ram lamb with a big top, big bone and big hip. Pictured here at 33 days of age he weighed in at 64 lbs. giving him an actual (not adjusted) rate of gain of 1.4 lbs. per day. He is sired by "LAWMAN", Pleasant Valley 1145, and dammed by Prairie Rose 681, a daughter out of "D'Artagnon" who was sired by "Great Divide", Luxford 1131A. He's a dandy and definitely another one to keep our eyes on!

This big topped, big hipped ewe lamb is sired by "Freight Train", our own ranch raised stud ram. "Freight Train" is a paternal half brother to "Burlington Northern", the stud we sold at Reno in 2006 for $8,500. This lamb is dammed by a "Maverick", Pleasant Valley 801 granddaughter.

These triplet lambs (2 ewe lambs & a ram lamb) are being reared on their dam, Prairie Rose 554. She is a production package that can throw some powerful lambs. She goes back to one of our oldest maternal lines that boasts old Luxford, Jack Larson and Buckeye Acres breeding.
Her lambs are sired by "LAWMAN", son of "Gunfighter" & g-son of "Gunslinger", a Wilt ram.
"LAWMAN" is siring some bold lambs for us that have size, scale, big, big, big! We are interested to see how his lambs perform as they mature.

"Dottie", Prairie Rose 509 in 4 lambings has a +200% lambing & weaning rate. Shown here with her newborn twin lambs sired by "Great Divide", Luxford 1131A. He is still siring lambs that are classy, powerful and stamped with style. These newborn lambs are stylin' in their winter sweaters to ward off the harsh Montana winter temperatures.

Another big topped, naturally thick, big legged, big boned son of "LAWMAN". He is dammed by Prairie Rose 526, a daughter of "Salsa", Prairie Rose 364, who was Reserve Champion Ewe at the 2001 Inland Northwest. She was Reserve Champion only to our other yearling that year that was Champion Ewe. We expect this young ram lamb to grow into a buck who will appeal to the range ram producer as a ram sire. Pictured here at 35 days of age.

Pictured here at 17 days of age, this ram lamb has a great top, good dock and big leg on him. He is dammed by a a first time lamber and is twin to a very fancy ewe lamb (who was camera shy). We expect this young fellow will grow into a powerful ram. He is sired by "LAWMAN" and dammed by a "Great Divide" grand daughter. He'll be a good one.

This young ram lamb is going to be special! He is very long, upfronted, naturally thick, correct, big hipped, big boned, level docked and he doesn't give anything up in the looks department. He is pictured here at 20 days of age. His dam is a "Great Divide" daughter who was dammed by Prairie Rose 507. 507 dammed "Mule Train", the stud we sold in 2007 at the National Sale in Reno for $3,500. He is sired by "LAWMAN", a stud who is siring some very bold lambs for us in his first season of work.
